This circular walk of about 5 miles starts at Towersey near Thame in Oxfordshire OX9 3QY

1. From Three Horseshoes in Towersey climb slope to right of old railway bridge and turn left down Phoenix Trail. After further 0.3 miles, reach footpath crossing the trail.
2. Turn right past stile to walk along edge of field with hedge on your right. Cross wooden bridge and carry on ahead to reach footbridge and stile. Turn right to another stile and bridge, then turn left through field with hedge on your left. On reaching woods, turn right along farm road. On reaching gate, turn left over stile and footbridge. Shortly cross another bridge and stile and walk through field with hedge on left. Follow path through several turns to cross stile and carry on ahead with low fence on right. Use the field if path overgrown. Cross or pass stile and follow farm track round to left to walk along edge of field with hedge on left. You will shortly reach the road at Emmington.
3. If you wish to break for a drink turn right here to visit the Inn at Emmington or the Crown at Sydenham. Otherwise turn left towards the village and keep on, ignoring footpath to church on right. Take bridleway to Henton on right. Follow bridleway to T junction, turn left.
4. Follow road past house on right onto path. Follow the path round past house on left and farm on right to reach Phoenix Trail. Turn left and follow trail back to Towersey and Three Horseshoes.
